Get Moving … And Leave PCOS Trailing

Regular exercise  is a key factor in PCOS health. This is the case whatever the level of your weight because exercise helps with better management of the root causes and symptoms of PCOS and can lead to an improvement in overall wellbeing.

So take up gentle swimming at your local indoor pool, for example, or go cycling. Better still, do both, with a friend if possible, for the sociability. You don’t have to try and emulate Michael Phelps or Lance Armstrorng. Build up your strenth slowly.

Walk as often as possible. Park your car as far as you can from the office and walk  the extra distance every day. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Exercise and weight loss benefits  blood pressure, cholesterol levels and insulin sensitivity. Improving all these factors can help reverse insulin resistance  – the imbalance of blood glucose and insulin which often underlies PCOS.
