“I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 16. The best answer at the time was birth control pills, so that’s what I took. I graduated and moved away from home not long after and continued to take birth control pills until spring 2009 when I decided I no longer wanted to remain on the pill.The talk of having a baby was an unsure subject, we hadn’t really tried any meds… but I knew I was not only dealing with PCOS but also endometriosis. My hopes for having children were slim, yet my husband’s desire was strong. Going off the pill was scary. “My name is Cecilia and I’m writing to you from Finland. I was diagnosed with PCOS by a health care professional earlier this year. I have fought these symptoms with many methods including acupuncture, GDV-therapy, and Clomifen. I have also tried vitamins, herbs, yoga and meditation, and all kinds of hair removal treatments.I started the Insulite PCOS System in mid-october 2008. “I knew from age 20 that I had PCOS. I am skinny and only weight 106 pounds and am 5′ 3″. When I got married at 27 my husband and I sought fertility treatments. “Sixteen years ago my fertility journey began. I started out like everyone else, expecting it to be easy, and then learned it wasn’t going to be so easy after all. I had no idea I would be facing years and years of time and energy on every fertility treatment available with no positive results. I spent tens of thousands of dollars on fertility drugs, IVF, and desperate measures. I felt that I was climbing a mountain, over and over again, but that I never could reach the top. I learned I had PCOS, not soon enough, and had not addressed the underlying insulin resistance throughout the majority of my fertility procedures because my doctors were not knowledgeable about PCOS or how to address it. When I did figure it out it was too late. The money was gone and I could not continue. After 10 years of trying, I gave up and accepted I would not be a biological parent. Since that time I never used any form of birth control and never got pregnant. I began the Insulite PCOS System in November 2007.
