Avoiding PCOS-Linked Type 2 Diabetes

Reversible pre-diabetes is closely linked with PCOS. If you neglect the former condition, there’s a good chance you will develop the even more serious type 2 variety. This disorder  is irreversible in most cases and may require daily injections of insulin to be managed.

It also severely increases your risk of blindness, kidney disease and the need for amputation.

Regular exercise along with a balanaced, nutritious diet to lose weight is vital to avoid the slide into type 2 diabetes.

So schedule “exercise appointments” as you would important meetings. Enlisting a friend or family member as your workout buddy is another good way to increase the chances of sticking to your exercise regime, which can include everything from walking and swimming to aerobics and tennis.

If possible, turn your daily commute into a fitness program by cycling at least some of the way to work. To make life easier, you can often store bikes on trains or buses for part of the journey.
