Woman who carry too much weight as a result of PCOS risk losing years off their lives, according to a new study.
Â
Carrying 50-60 pounds above a healthy weight level can cost at least three years of life span, warn researchers.
Â
But those who are extremely overweight could lose ten years, say scientists at Oxford University in England, who assessed the impact of obesity by analyzing data from 57 separate studies.
Â
They found a clear link between high body mass index (BMI) scores and an early grave. Using BMI gives a good measure of how overweight a person is because it compares weight to height. And it enables scientists to estimate how much excess weight could be dangerous compared with an ‘ideal’ weight.Â
Â
The chances of living longer are greatly improved by losing weight from a balanced, nutritious diet and regular exercise. Not only does losing weight make you feel better. You’ll love your new look, too.
