But be careful that all those goodies you might be tempted to put on top don’t make it more calorie-laden than lasagna or fettuccine Alfredo. We’re talking about cheese crumbles, caramelized nuts, bacon, avocado, dried fruit, croûtons and vinaigrette.

Settle for just one topping and add delicious but lower-cal veggies like roasted bell peppers, grilled onions or mushrooms. While you’re at it, use only half the low-fat dressing that you usually add.
