Why Salads Can Play Havoc With PCOS Weight Control

Those of us with PCOS may feel virtuous whenever we have a salad because it’s a healthy weight-control choice for better management of the symptoms of our condition.
 
But be careful that all those goodies you might be tempted to put on top don’t make it more calorie-laden than lasagna or fettuccine Alfredo. We’re talking about cheese crumbles, caramelized nuts, bacon, avocado, dried fruit, croûtons and vinaigrette.
 
Settle for just one topping and add delicious but lower-cal veggies like roasted bell peppers, grilled onions or mushrooms. While you’re at it, use only half the low-fat dressing that you usually add.
