View Your Scale as a Friend, Not an Enemy

Better weight control is essential for women to improve management of their PCOS symptoms, whether they’re lean or overweight. And women who succeed in losing weight and keeping it off say it’s important to know how much they weigh at all times.

But while they monitor both weight loss and gain by stepping on the scale frequently, they tend to view the process as an aid to good health rather than developing an unhealthy fixation on the reading.

Some women who are less successful at losing weight often pack on the pounds, however, because they become so scared of seeing weight gain on the scale that they don’t step on it at all. As a result, they lose track completely of how much they’re gaining.
