Getting Started on Better Health

If you already walk regularly for exercise to better manage your PCOS symptoms, you’ll know just how good it can make you feel – especially the knowledge of all the benefits you’re getting for your health like weight loss or better control of your weight, improved heart function and even a better night’s sleep.
But if you’ve never really walked to improve your health before, it’s never too late to start, though you should consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise regime. If you’re a complete beginner, walk only as far as you comfortably can at first, even if that means just walking in one direction for a few minutes and then turning around and coming back. Remember, however, that you’ve already begun boosting your health.
Try to build up to 20 to 30 minutes three times a week or more, initially by increasing your walk by two to three minutes each time. You’ll soon be amazed at the new distances you can cover.
Walking can be more interesting if you do it with a distinct purpose in mind. So try pretending sometimes that you’re late for an appointment.
