So what’s the difference between goals and resolutions, you may ask? Well, when it comes to traditional resolutions, women like us with PCOS may, for example, have the attitude: “From now on, I won’t do anything to worsen my condition by undoing my previous good work to lose weight.”
Â
The problem with this approach is that, after one or two slip-ups, some people feel like failures and tend to drop the whole effort, falling easily back into familiar bad habits.
Â
On the other hand, if you set goals, you aim, instead, to work towards a desired new form of behavior. The key difference is that, with this approach, people don’t expect to be perfect at first … and are pleased with any progress they make and encouraged to make more.
Â
Tomorrow we’ll suggest some ideas that allow motivation and pride to work their magic.

Happy 2011 from all of us at Insulite Laboratories.
