How to Enjoy Holiday Treats Without Weight Gain

According to a recent study by Tufts University in Boston, overweight individuals put on an average of 5 additional pounds during the holidays. But that doesn’t have to happen to you, with resulting consequences for your PCOS health. Just bear in mind a couple of simple tricks.
 
Firstly, try to chew each bite at least 20 times and put your fork down between bites to remind you to slow down. Your saliva contains special enzymes called ptyalin and amylase, which digest fattening carbohydrates. Chewing allows those enzymes to do their work.
 
Also try to remember how much food you actually enjoy, as opposed to just eating for the sake of it and ending up feeling stuffed! For example, if you just can’t resist a piece of cake, cut a very thin sliver because the first bite will be heaven but the second is likely to only be OK and the third will probably be an anti-climax. So only eat what you can truly savor as delicious.
