This is day one of the six simple steps to weight loss, and I actually chose this topic because we posted on our Facebook page and just asked what your most pressing symptoms are with hormonal challenges. The number one response was weight, and just being able to lose weight and keep it off. And I just have to say that’s the Achilles heel for us women. It just is, it’s just this life long challenge, you know, releasing weight. So I just want to start by kind of shaking out that yucky tension around it. I am all about empowering you to become the CEO of your own health. And it’s because I was not, for so many years, in fact for decades, and it just keeps us stuck. So if we don’t take charge of our health, then we stay stuck. So I want to hear from you right now, “I am becoming the CEO of my own health.” Just by you being here, you’re making that happen. So congratulations for being here.
So today we’re going to bust some myths around weight loss. It’s those myths, It’s those common beliefs that we have that are completely keeping us stuck around weight loss. And I am going to try to transition us into saying weight release instead of weight loss because when we lose something, we tend to want to find it again. And I want to make sure that when, when you release weight, you actually just let go of it. You send it off on its way, never to be found again, unless of course, you’re someone who needs to put on a little weight and then we’ll come up with a new term for that. But this is all about releasing weight. So instead of losing weight or weight loss, we’re going to say releasing weight, weight release, just so that we can get our mindset in the right place to let go of what’s not serving us.
You know, we think of our bodies as though it was just this thing that comes along with us. We just expect it to be there for us, we just expect it to come along. We expect it to look pretty darn sexy and amazing, and unfortunately, it takes some care. Not only does it take some care, but it takes a lot of care. And I had this mindset that my body was just there for me whenever I needed it. I didn’t really like my body, I had so much body shame. I hated my body, I felt so ugly and so fat and I tried to ignore it and it didn’t work. Ignoring my body did not help me release the weight. It didn’t help me get my energy back. It didn’t help me feel fabulous like I have wanted to feel. So I just have to say that we have to learn how to bio-hack our own bodies and in a healthy way. Right? All it means is that we’re looking for things that really support us and I’m going to talk to you all about that tomorrow. All the things, those six simple steps that we to take to really rock our metabolism, to release the weight, to get to healthy body composition. Does that resonate with you?
