Talk about health care is everywhere these days and Thursday, June 25th is a big day in health care reform. Those of us whose lives have been touched by infertility can stand up that day and make a real, first hand impact on legislators.
People are traveling to Washington, DC to support legislation requiring insurance firms to cover both diagnosis and treatment for infertility as part of the Family Building Act of 2009.
RESOLVE – the National Infertility Association will be there advocating for legislative reform. The organization will arrange appointments with your Congressional representatives, supply you with materials on advocacy and will even provide training in effective advocacy practices.
They will convey to lawmakers the vital point that the states that have already passed laws requiring coverage of infertility have reduced health care costs overall with no resulting increase in premiums.
We sincerely hope you can make it to Washington on June 25th. Bring family and friends with you and spend some time at the museums and monuments afterward.
If you can’t make it -please contact your Members of Congress and make them aware of your views. Perhaps you have a friend or relative in the DC metropolitan area that can represent you on this important occasion.
