By the time I realized that my self esteem was in the tank, I had given up.
I really wanted to attend my junior high and high school dances, but I was just too self conscious. I felt fat, and my acne made me feel ugly.
I was my senior class vice president, in charge of all the social functions for my senior class, including homecoming, prom and everything in between.
But I quickly realized that I had made a huge mistake and turned over my duties to all the beautiful girls in my class – the ones who actually attended these events and knew what they were doing.
Looking back I can see I was constantly holding a pity party for myself. I was good at many things but my low self-confidence kept me stuck…really stuck.
My self-confidence finally turned around when I made a decision to stop complaining about my weight and do something. I was literally sick and tired of being fat.
When you make a decision it builds self-confidence. I actually lost all the weight I wanted to lose.
This encouraged me to keep making better health decisions – I felt empowered.
Because when you make one decision after another it moves your health in the direction you want it to go. You become full of self-confidence, and what you want begins to happen.
The stars begin to align, and the teacher appears, all because you show up.
I didn’t see improvement in my health and my life until I felt like I was worth it.
The message to learn is that it’s all you. You’re worth it. But you have to believe it – or you can hold onto my belief that you’re worth it, until you believe it for yourself.
So dig deep, dear sister friend, and ask yourself the tough question. Are you worth it? (Of course the answer is a resounding YES!)
Then I would say, make your first decision on what the next step is for you.
I’m here for you every step of the way.
