[PCOS Food Friday] Party Mix

Welcome to another Food Friday! We love “Elana’s Pantry” and her PCOS-Friendly recipes. Here is one of her recipes that is a great substitute for other snack mixes out there that may not be beneficial to our healing process.
This weeks PCOS – Friendly recipe is: Paleo Spicy Party Mix *From Elana’s Pantry 

Ingredients

1 cup raw cashews
1 cup pecans
1 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon chipotle powder
1 teaspoon celtic sea salt
1/2 cup regular raisins

*Always use organic ingredients whenever possible

Instructions

  • Place nuts in a large bowl and toss with oil
  • Sprinkle chili, chipotle, and salt over nuts, tossing to incorporate
  • Spread on a large cookie sheet
  • Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes
  • Remove from oven and cool, then toss in raisins
  • Serve

Lastly, walnuts contain lots of an omega-3 fat called alpha linolenic acid, which reduces C-reactive protein (CRP), an artery inflammatory marker that is associated with heart disease.
