Maintain Muscle for Weight Control and PCOS Health

Among the many reasons for those of us with PCOS to keep exercising for better health is the fact that it keeps your muscles in shape to burn calories. The resulting weight loss or better control of weight can improve the management of your PCOS symptoms.

Unused muscle doesn’t turn to fat because they are two entirely different substances. But when a woman with good muscles stops exercising, she can start to eat more.

The muscles then shrink in size while the fat cells plump up. At first this may not register on the scale because fat gains are offset by the decreased weight of waning muscle. But eventually the weight will begin to creep up as flab forms.
