Sixteen years ago my fertility journey began. I started out like everyone else, expecting it to be easy, and then learned it wasn’t going to be so easy after all. I had no idea I would be facing years and years of time and energy on every fertility treatment available with no positive results. I spent tens of thousands of dollars on fertility drugs, IVF, and desperate measures. I felt that I was climbing a mountain, over and over again, but that I never could reach the top. I learned I had PCOS, not soon enough, and had not addressed the underlying insulin resistance throughout the majority of my fertility procedures because my doctors were not knowledgeable about PCOS or how to address it. When I did figure it out it was too late. The money was gone and I could not continue. After 10 years of trying, I gave up and accepted I would not be a biological parent. Since that time I never used any form of birth control and never got pregnant.
I began the Insulite PCOS System in November 2007. I wasn’t thinking about pregnancy or babies, I was just thinking about my overall health. I wanted to feel good, to get rid of some extra weight, and to keep myself free of diabetes. Interestingly, I had some uncomfortable symptoms after starting the Insulite PCOS System, but they were symptoms I recognized….symptoms that meant I was ovulating. As I continued on, the discomfort subsided and the Insulite PCOS System became a part of my daily routine. I “forgot” that I was taking the supplements, eating better, and exercising more, but recognized I was feeling good and had lost a bit of weight. The Insulite PCOS System was the only change I had undertaken but it appeared to be a good one. Then in May 2008, on the day after Mother’s Day, I got the biggest surprise of my life! A positive pregnancy test, followed by a hurry-up ultrasound where I saw my baby’s heartbeat! I was both thrilled and stunned! Today I am just weeks away from giving birth to my son and still pinching myself!
As a scientist, I know not to attribute “cause and effect” to something that could be a coincidence. All I can say is that beginning the Insulite PCOS System was the only lifestyle change I made and the timing of my pregnancy leads me to believe there was a likely connection. When I compare the lower cost to all of the money I paid for doctors and fertility treatments, I have to say I would never again undertake fertility treatments without trying the Insulite PCOS System first.
