Dear Robin: “How do I make lifestyle changes to help my PCOS? Anything I’ve tried doesn’t seem to help me”.
Dear Addie: It can be confusing where to begin. There is so much conflicting information out there for sure.
Here are a few things to think about when you’re looking for support to heal from symptoms of PCOS:
1. What outcomes have other women had using a specific approach for healing from symptoms of PCOS?
2. Does the approach focus on long-term lifestyle strategies or short-term gain?
3. Have you given yourself enough time to see change? (It can take a minimum of three months of taking really good care of yourself to even ovulate, a year for old, damaged cells to be replaced by new healthy ones, and sometimes a year to recover from hormonal birth control.)
4. Is there anything holding you back from committing to yourself and your health success? Take a moment to sit with this to see what might be in your way.
Healing from symptoms of PCOS takes time. The path to success is not a straight line, but rather up and down a bit, so don’t get discouraged if you see some setbacks. That’s perfectly normal! As long as most of the time you are on track, you will heal. I promise.
You are worth it Addie – you deserve only the best life.
